Join us for an exciting two-day celebration! The event kicks off Friday evening with a special and free viewing of the incredible documentary Hidden Rivers, offering an engaging and inspiring start to the weekend.

Then on Saturday, the energy continues with a full festival experience featuring Reptile World shows, Stream Safari, presentations by the Wildlife Center of Virginia and The LYCRA Company, Fish and Fun Rodeo, canoe rides, kids’ arts & crafts, and is all capped off by the Great South River Duck Race!

Friday Night Kickoff:
Join us at the Wayne Theatre (521 W Main St, Waynesboro, VA 22980) from 7:00–8:30 PM for a free viewing of the Hidden Rivers documentary. Hidden Rivers is directed by Jeremy Monroe and David Herasimtschuk, with sound by Matt Kellam, of Freshwaters Illustrated. Music by Humming House. Narrated by Suzanne Frank.

Saturday Festival:
This free annual event takes place riverside at Constitution Park in Waynesboro, VA. Activities begin at 10:00 AM and run until 4:30 PM.

RIVERFEST – Saturday May 2, 2026

2026 – is the Year of the Brook Trout at Riverfest!

Programs and activities start at 10am and continue throughout the day.

This FREE annual event takes place river-side at Constitution Park South in Waynesboro, VA. Activities include Reptile World shows, presentations by the Wildlife Center of Virginia, Stream Safari exploration, Fish and Fun Rodeo, canoe rides, kids arts & crafts, interactive exhibits, and more. The day ends with the Great South River Duck Race!

Rain or Shine – No Pets Allowed

Riverfest welcomes environmentally-themed organizations and companies as exhibitors. There is no exhibit fee; exhibitors may not charge a fee for games or activities associated with their table. For more information, please email: [email protected]
